The 2002 National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG) was the culmination of a 6-year effort to turn this long-standing survey of women of reproductive age into a survey of men and women. This poster briefly summarizes some highlights of the planning, research, and consultation that led to the survey's design and content. We then outline the content of the questionnaires for males and for females, highlighting the items that are in common as well as the differences between the male and female data files. Finally, we show sample sizes and response rates for various sub-groups of the population, and describe how to obtain the public use data file. The presenters will answer questions from PAA members who may wish to use the data for their own research.
