Provincial Estimates and Projections of HIV/AIDS in China

This paper provides provincial estimates and projections of HIV/AIDS for seven Chinese provinces highly affected by the epidemic based on the 2000 census data for China. On the basis of the provincial estimates and projections, the hypotheses necessary to re-produce existing national estimates of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in China are also analyzed. The paper concludes with policy recommendations to better monitor the Chinese HIV/AIDS epidemic in the future at the province and national level.
